4 Simple Ways to Show Your Employees Gratitude

In life, expressing how appreciative you are for someone else’s services goes a long way.

At the workplace, it’s equally as important to remain grateful and consistently remind your employees that you value their hard work.

Here are four easy ways to show your employees how much they mean to you:

1. Team meals

One thing Phenom People always does for their employees is provide Monday morning breakfasts and Friday lunches. Monday mornings can be rough, but knowing that there’s a hot plate of eggs, bacon, and bagels waiting for you at the office, is that extra added level of motivation. Providing a delicious and FREE meal every once and awhile keeps your employees engaged, stimulates culture, and builds stronger relationships.

2. Summer hours

It’s warm, sunny, and people are traveling to the beach for the weekend. Being stuck inside the office under the fluorescent lights until 5 or 6 o’clock can dampen their moods. In an effort to show appreciation, companies have implemented summer hours so that their employees can get a jumpstart on enjoying their weekend outdoors.

3. Dedicated hangout zone

Aside from a foosball table or air hockey in the break room, dedicate an area just for your employees to let off some steam where the only requirement is discussions about work and projects are not welcomed. Your employees spend 40+ hours a week at the office, make it a place they want to enjoy coming to and that fosters team building.

4. Recognition emails and shout-outs

It’s a small gesture but speaks volumes. Send either a mass email, announce it at a company meeting, or add a personalized touch by walking over to their desk and thanking them for going the extra mile or excelling at a project. Doing so will boost morale and they’ll be more likely to continue their grind.

While much attention is focused on enhancing the candidate journey, as it should be, it is just as important that companies nurture the relationships with their employees. Your staff is one of your strongest resources, treat them right and they’ll work wonders.
